24 June 2008 || Concerning the best lyrics EVER

Confession? I ADORE 80's power rock. I have an especial obsession for Journey. Yeah, yeah, I see those looks. You know you sing along to Journey when they come on! Best moment I've had in recent memory? At Incahoots with Cormac, before the George Strait song came on and threw me for a loop, Don't Stop Believin' comes on, and the whole place starts singing along!! Those are the moments that both affirm how tragically white I am, and also, how much I love my twisted little life!

The pure awesome of Journey aside, read the lyrics to my new MySpace song, and TRY to tell me that little Steve Perry doesn't sing straight to some corner of your soul.

Just a small town girl, livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin anywhere
Just a city boy, born and raised in south Detroit
He took the midnight train goin anywhere

A singer in a smokey room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
Hiding, somewhere in the night

Working hard to get my fill,
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice,
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

(chorus)

Dont stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'

Streetlight people

Honestly.... if you can tell me you don't rock the hell out to that, go ahead and comment back that I'm a dumb ass.
